Weekend in Pictures: King Pin

This weekend was just full of a hodge podge of activities. I feel as though I should update you on all of them, but let's go one at a time, shall we?

Buck Jones was jumpin' on Saturday night when we hit up AMF Lanes for some ten pin action. Little did we know, there was a King Pin amongst us. Hint: King Pin is featured in the picture below. King Pin's identity will be revealed shortly.

Don't you just love late night bowling? Day-glo colors and music videos! It's so much fun! In fact, it makes Kara giddy.

Some action shots for your viewing pleasure:

That's nice....(I'll have to thank Becki for that shot).

So, have you figured out who King Pin is yet? Tim could throw nothing but strikes on Saturday night. Exhibit A: Thomas' face of awe.

Going in for his six bagger (I guess that's what they call six strikes in a row?).

Access was denied. But, Tim did walk away with a score of 188 after throwing a five bagger.

In fact, his talent coupled with our lack thereof was rather depressing for some.

Four days later, my jacket still smells like fried cheesesticks.

Oughhh...

Remember the scene in You've Got Mail where Meg Ryan has a cold and there are tissues all over the place and her house is a mess when Tom Hanks shows up? He says "I brought you flowers" and she says "Oughhh...thank you." Yea. I'm Meg. Minus the cute boy and the flowers.

And, it's been a rough week in general. Lots of things have been happening and I am behind in my blogging and my 2009 goal planning. I've pretty much accomplish zilch since we last spoke. So, dear reader, I beg you to hold on and bear with me. Better (and less snottier) days are coming!

The Atomic Blonde

The Atomic Blonde aka Faith Ya'll tagged me during my Christmas break and I have yet to do as she said. Following my tagging orders, here are my five predictions for 2009.

1. I predict that the UNC Tar Heels men's basketball team will win the NCAA championship and NC State will not be invited to the NIT.

2. I predict that at least two more couples in CYC will get engaged.

3. I predict that my physical appearance will be altered - whether the bee's knees or a big ol' hot mess - only time will tell.

4. I predict that 80s glam rock hair will make a comeback and Tonya will lead the effort here in Raleigh.

5. I predict that I will know how to cook more than three meals by the end of the year.

And, I know ya'll are probably wondering when I'm gonna take a look back at those goals for 2008 and see how I did, right? Well, I'm dog sitting this weekend so one of my projects while chillin' with the canines is to get my life in order and ready for 2009. Cuz, dagum it ya'll, we's gonna make some progress this year I tell ya!

Sorry I haven't been in touch

But, I've been lazy. I took about two weeks off during Christmas and I did nothing but vegged out. We had a great Christmas!

Some of us got exciting things like Wall-E,

i-Pods,

photos of great-grandchildren,

and crockpots.

Others of us received the grown up present of money. But, money's always great! I've been hoarding mine. I spent a bit of it on finishing out my Sex and the City DVD collection (Target had each series clearanced for $8.99 a piece). I also got a couple of The Office DVDs and Skip Bo. The rest is sitting in my wallet causing me to agonize over whether to buy a Wii or be responsible and put it towards fixing the paint scratch on my car. I think it's creating an ulcer in my stomach.

After Christmas, a few friends went down to the OBX for a New Year's vegetation weekend. We literally did NOTHING. Some people did not even leave the house. We played a new game called The Pit that Caitlin got for Christmas. I high recommend it!

We also visited The Wright Brothers' Memorial. Carolyn and I were super excited to get our National Park passports stamped!

And, some of us came one year closer to understanding why old men wear black socks with sandals.

Once I got back to Raleigh, I was able to squeeze in one more night of fun before heading back to work. My hair stylist John threw an 80s party that was super fun at his super sick house. Seriously, I'm in the wrong profession.

We had Girls Just Want To Have Fun playing while we were getting ready. My outfit made me happy. I was going for the Teen Witch "Most Popular Girl" look. If you don't know what I'm talking about, rent the movie. Now. Karen let me borrow her jean jacket which totally completed what I was going for.

But, enough about me and my holiday happenings! What's been up with you!?
